Troop 1018 - Photo Galleries

It was uncharacteristically foggy, and warm, for January this year at Bears Den.  But the hiking was fun, and we played some  marathon games of Risk and Monopoly, so say nothing of the Chess Tournament that Eric won.  The food was pretty amazing too.

We had great weather for our weekend of minimalist camping.  After a night-time backpack to our campsite, we settled in for an activity-packed adventure.  Saturday included a hike along the park's trails and a short segment of the Appalachian Trail.

Warm days, lots of sun, and time to spend outdoors! What could be better than the beginning of summer?  How about a rafting trip?  Out on the Lower Youghagheny River we had a great time riding the rapids, enjoying the weather, and spending some time with friends from Troop 1018.

We fished, it rained, we did an really fun service project - knocking out some invasive non-indegenous trees, some with our bare hands.  It was a great weekend.

Our weekend at Prince William Forest was dedicated to orienteering, skill-building for Troop 1018's newest scouts, and the joys of spring (well almost) in Northern Virginina.
